Spring / AutumnPilgrimage Tour in Nepal takes you to all the major Hindu shrines of Nepal. We begin our Pilgrimage Tour from the Mega Hindu Shrine of the entire world- the Temple of Pashupatinath. We explore around the temple, offer prayers at the main temple, witness cremation ongoing at Aryaghat and encounter several holy saints at Pashupatinath.
Nepal has the densest population of people who follow Hinduism. However, the country and its citizens have great respect for other religions. Nepal is one of the nations with the largest volume of Hindus and hence it the best destination to travel to understand the culture of Hinduism for the non-Hindu travelers. For the Hindus, Nepal is no wonder one of the most preferred homes of Shiva, Bishnu, and other Hindu deities.
Our Pilgrimage Tour also visits other Hindu shrines inside Kathmandu Valley, which include Changunarayan, Dolesornath, and Budanilkantha. We stay in Pokhara to explore this most beautiful town in Nepal. However, the stay in Pokhara also comprises the visit to temples like Bindabasini and Tal Barahi. The journey on the cable-ways to Manakamana Temple on the way back to Kathmandu is also the major highlight of the Pilgrimage Tour in Nepal.
Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by the representative from Nepal Footprint Holiday Treks and after collecting all your baggage, you will be transferred to your respective hotel. Check in Hotel, refresh and free time, at hotel you will meet with our experienced and professional tour guide, you will be explained about the tour with the full information and tour map. At evening, Welcome Dinner in Nepali restaurant Hotel B/B plan.
Morning after breakfast, drive to Pashupatinath, a hindu pilgrimage and cultural world heritage site situated at the bank of holy Bagmati River. Explore the old temples, houses and historical places around Pashupatinath. After few hours sightseeing, drive back to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel with B/B plan.
Morning drive to pokhara, check in hotel and after refreshment explore the city. Fewa lake, tal barahi temple, gupteshwor cave are the major attractions in Pokhara to visit. Overnight at Hotel with B/B plan.
Early morning fly to jomsom and drive to Muktinath Temple. After few hours of puja and some cultural exploration, drive back to hotel at jomsom. Overnight at Hotel at Jomsom with B/B plan.
Jomsom-Muktinath:
Muktinath, located at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foothills of the Thorong La mountain pass, Mustang, Nepal is the sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists pilgrims. A pagoda style shape temple is dedicated to the Lord Bishnu with the 108 water spouts behind the temple where the pilgrims take holy bath.
Muktinath temple is believed to be the place of salvation because according to the Hindus that this world is “Maya” (an illusion) and after visiting the temple and having bath with the 108 water spouts, one can get rid of the Maya. The temple is considered to be one of the 24 tantric places in the Tibetan Buddhist faith. Acoording to tradition, Guru Rinpoche, who founded the Tibetan faith, stopped here to worship the Dakinis or sky dancing goddesses on his way to Tibet.Some people called this place Salagrama, Many Shaligrams found here are considered by Hindu as incarnation of lord Vishnu and worship them. According to Hindu Myth lord Vishnu turned into Shaligram because of Brinda’s Curse.
Jomsom Muktinath is a famous destination for both trekking and tour in Nepal. The best time for trekking or tour to Muktinath is April to October but it can done all over the year according to the availability of the good weather. Jomsom Muktinath can be reached by a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom (25 minutes flight) and a (68 km + 55 km – 8-9 hours jeep drive).
Morning fly to Pokhara and drive to Kathmandu. On way to Kathmandu, you will visit Manakamana Temple via Cable Car, a hindu pilgrimage temple where you can have puja and some cultural activities. After the Manakamana Temple, drive to Kathmandu, free time for self exploration and overnight at Hotel with B/B plan.
Morning after the breakfast, drive to Budhanilkantha famous for the Sleeping Vishnu temple and visit Doleshwornath temple, after the sightseeing around the Vishnu temple, drive back to Kathmandu Durbar Square. The Kumari Temple, temple of living goddesses Kumari, Old museum and kings palace, temples, Kal Bhairav Statue are the main attrations to visit in Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is also listed in UNESCO Cultural world heritage site and popular for the hindu pilgrimage site. After the sightseeing around the Kathmandu Durbar Square, drive to Hotel, overnight at Hotel with B/B plan.
