Wonders of Tibet Tour is 10 days travel package in Tibet to visit – Potala Palace hub of Buddhism, Jokhang Temple, Lhasa city, and Yamdrok Lake and Tibetan Villages. Tour of Wonders of Tibet

First of all, Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, is amazing in itself. This tour begins by exploring the important landmarks around Lhasa. Explore all places such as Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Drepung, Ganden Monastery and more. Typical Tibetan Buddhism unfolds in front of us as we explore the typical Barkhor Square. Tibet also has wonderful glaciers, mysterious historic sites, wildlife shelters, and friendly Tibetans.

The Wonders of Tibet Tour continues to Nyingchi via Gongbogyamda. On the way, visit the holy lake of the Red Sect – of Lamaism – Basomtso Lake. Continue the drive to Nyingci along the beautiful Niyang River. The myths say the plaintive tears of holy mountains feed the river. Drive across Mila Pass (5,013m) and stop over to take some pictures of the pristine Tibetan villages, forest, valleys, and glaciers as you make your way to “Lesser Switzerland” – Nyingchi, also known as the Throne of the Sun in the Tibetan language.

The final part of this tour goes along the cities of Friendship Highway like Gyantse, Shigatse, Tingri. It also highlights the highest altitude monastery Rongbuk and the Everest Base Camp of the Tibetan side. The drive across high passes and the views of turquoise lakes like Yam Drok Tso and the great cultural encounters in Tibetan Towns are also the primary highlights of this tour.

Day by day Itinerary

Meet your guide and driver at the airport or train station. The remainder of the day is at your leisure in Lhasa City hotel with B/B plan.

A sightseeing tour of the worlds Holy Land of Buddhism, including a visit to the icon of Tibet Potala Palace. Explore the Jokhang Temple, and then enjoy a walk on the Barkhor Street at your own pace.

Travel to Nyingchi via Gongbogyamda. On the way, visit the holy lake of the Red Sect – of Lamaism – Basomtso Lake. Continue the drive to Nyingci along the beautiful Niyang River, it is said to be an aggregate of the plaintive tears of the holy mountains. Drive through the Mila Pass (5013M asl) and stop over to take some pictures of the pristine Tibetan villages, forest, valleys and glaciers as you make your way to “Lesser Switzerland” – Nyingchi, also known as the Throne Of The Sun in Tibetan language.

Visit the Giant Cypress Forest. Afterward, drive through Niyang River Valley, where snow-clad mountains, virgin forests and meadows provide a home for a variety of wildlife. Cross the Mila Pass 5230M, your journey continues through the picturesque Bajietang Grassland as you make your way back to Lhasa.

Westward cross the Gangbala Snow Mountain – 4990M to Shigatse. Shigatse is known as – the city of heroes, has innumerable lakes, meadows, snow-clad peaks, forests, waterfalls, and unspoiled alpine scenery. Continue the journey to the holy Buddhist Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, where you’ll enjoy a great view of villages, forest, meadows, sheep, and ice-sculpted mountains. The scenery is nothing short of spectacular! Proceed to explore the Palkhor Monastery, Zhongshan Fort Ruin of Resisting British Army, and the Pala Manor – an epitome of the feudal serfdom system, where you can learn some real facts about the serfs and the serfowners in the old days.

After breakfast, drive to Shegar – the new town of Dingri via Lhatse, the origin place of Tibetan knife. On the way, we will cross the Gyatsola Snow Mountain 5220 M.

Visit to the Rongbuk, a Buddhist Monastery of the Red Sect of Lamaism which has the highest altitude of its kind in the world. The temple is located at the end of the famous Rongbuk Glacier, about 20 km from the top of the Mt. Everest. The temple attracts many tourists every day as it offers a great view of the mountain. Afterward, trek or hire a carriage to the Everest Base Camp.

Visit the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas – the Tashilunpo Monastery. Later, drive back to Lhasa.

Todays excursion takes you to the Namtso Lake to enjoy the amazing view of the endless north Tibet plain and the snow-clad Nyainqentanglha Mountains. Then take a hot spring bath in Yangpachen before driving back to Lhasa.

The trip ends today with you departing on individual schedules. Transfers are provided to the airport or the train station.

The best time to visit Tibet is between May and October, when the sky is mostly sunny and blue, temperatures reach double digits and the ice melts. Tibet is on a plateau which experience permafrost all year round.
